In season three, episode thirteen, "Any Given Friday Night at 10PM, 9PM Central", Shawn Spencer (James Roday) mentioned he was going to retort to Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) with a line from Night of the Comet (1984), which starred Catherine Mary Stewart. Catherine also starred in Weekend at Bernie's (1989) alongside Jonathan Silverman, who appeared in season three, episode fourteen, "Truer Lies", as Lyin' Ryan.
