(at around 2h 5 mins) Mr. Andrews (Victor Garber) angrily notes to Officer Lightoller (Jonny Phillips) that he saw a lifeboat leave with only 12 people aboard, while it could theoretically hold 60 people. This is probably based on a real-life account of a surviving passenger to Walter Lord, who wrote the book "A Night To Remember", where he mentioned that some of the officers ignored the "women and children first" rule. As a result, lifeboat #1 was boarded by Sir Cosmo Duff Gordon and his wife (portrayed in the movie by Martin Jarvis and Rosalind Ayres), her secretary, and two other first-class men, for a total of only 12 passengers.
