The scene where Professor Lupin teaches Harry the Patronus Charm to defend against the Dementors was filmed on the set that served as Dumbledore's office in Harry Potter e la camera dei segreti (2002). Alfonso Cuarón liked the set and wanted to use it in this movie. Since the script makes no mention of Dumbledore's office, the set was instead re-decorated as a different room entirely (referred to as the Astronomy Room in the script). It was reverted into Dumbledore's office for Harry Potter e il calice di fuoco (2005) and subsequent movies.
