Bret McKenzie (Lindir) previously appeared as a different elf character in Il Signore degli Anelli - La compagnia dell'Anello (2001) and Il Signore degli Anelli - Il ritorno del re (2003). His character in the Lord of the Rings movies was officially unnamed during production, but was informally dubbed "Figwit" (which stood for "Frodo is great...who is THAT?!?") by fans, and Sir Peter Jackson has accepted the use of that name.
