When Hollow Ichigo tells Ichigo that he's Zangetsu, he wasn't lying, in the final manga arc, it is revealed that "old man Zangetsu" is the manifestation of Ichigo's Quincy powers that he got from his mother. Hollow Ichigo is the manifestation of his Shinigami and Hollow powers, therefore, Hollow Ichigo is also Zangetsu, so he was telling the truth
