Akshaye Khanna was the first guy that Farhan met for that film. He wanted to cast him in the role that Aamir eventually played... that of Aakash. Farhan wanted Hrithik Roshan to play Sameer (played by Saif Ali Khan) and Farhan wanted Abhishek Bachchan as Sid (Akshaye).
