Before the fourth season, Terry Farrell, Hattie Winston, Shawnee Smith, Alex Désert, and Saverio Guerra staged a protest over their salaries by refusing to show up for work. The five actors had expected a pay raise after the third season but did not receive one. They filed a lawsuit against Paramount Television for breach of contract. The suit was eventually settled and the actors returned to work.
