(at around 37 mins) About a third of the way through the movie, during the first night at the Abbey, Father Burke is led out of the Abbey and into the graveyard by either Valak impersonating Daniel or Daniel's vengeful ghost and eventually trapped in a coffin and buried alive in a matter of seconds. Written in plain English on his tombstone are the words 'Here lies Father Anthony Burke' in an almost mocking manner. This is similar to a scene from the miniseries adaptation of It (1990), where Pennywise torments the adult Losers by showing them empty graves. It's significant since Gary Dauberman is the screenplay writer of the IT movies by Andy Muschietti and the Conjuring spin-offs.
