"I Never Promised You A Rose Garden" (aka ''Rose Garden'') is also the name of a 1967 song which became a small hit record in 1969. This was a few years after the movie's source novel of the same phrase by Joanne Greenberg had been first published in 1964. The tune does not feature in the film. The song's official title is "Rose Garden" but the full title phrase, the name of the novel and later this film, has the title of the song also well known under the title of "(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden".
