There are some noticeable changes in the movie premiere to the TV show. Most noticeable is KITT's voice modulator which is now an orb mounted where the air vents were instead of the screen covering the radio and climate controls in the movie premier. Use of the displays on the windshield and later hood were newer for the show. While there isn't an explanation given, one could surmise that the version of KITT from the movie was a prototype and modifications were made to KITT before he was mission ready for the TV series.
