Of the movie's screenplay, Steven C. Miller said that while screenwriters Max Adams and Umair Aleem did a great job writing key details to parts of the fights, action though in a screenplay is usually just an outline. Miller said: "The script says: 'Harry [Turner (Kellan Lutz] kicks ass.' So, you have to sit down and figure out the details of exactly what that ass-kicker's doing. Simon [Simon Rhee] and his team are the best at doing that."
