Director Harley Cokeliss, who was a friend of Frank Oz, having worked with him on Muppet Show (1976), visited the set toward the end of filming when the production team were struggling to get everything in the can before they ran over schedule. Cokeliss was hired on the spot as a additional director, and is credited as one of the second unit directors.
