Glenn Close's first film was The World According to Garp, in which she played Robin Williams' mother. Her next film was The Big Chill, directed by Raiders of the Lost Ark writer Lawrence Kasdan. Her cast mates included Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) and William Hurt (A.I. Artificial Intelligence), as well as JoBeth Williams from Poltergeist.
