One of the neighbors states that, among many quirks, the Bradys don't have a toilet in their bathroom. This is an inside joke, as the original show didn't show a toilet whenever the bathroom is shown, leading people to joke that the Bradys are so wholesome, they don't go to the bathroom. In reality, the network would not permit a toilet to be shown in the series, believing it would be in poor taste. However, the first appearance of a toilet on American television was actually in a 1957 episode of Leave it to Beaver.
