Music director Laxmikant had heard Sudesh Bhosle singing Rang Barse at stage shows. He was impressed at how much he sounded like Amitabh. One day Sudesh met Laxmikant at his office for work. Laxmikant told Sudesh to reach the Mehboob recording studio. When Sudesh arrived,he was saw 80 musicians recording and got very nervous. Laxmikant introduced Sudesh Bhosle to director Shashi Kapoor who was present. They requested Sudesh to sing the song "Ya Ali". Sudesh sang a few verses and then asked who would he be singing for. When Laxmikant told him the song was for Amitabh. Sudesh was very shocked and he nervousness grew even further. Laxmikant told Shashi Kapoor that Sudesh was very good at mimicking Amitabh's voice. They asked Sudesh to recite some dialogues in Amitabh's voice. When Shashi heard this he was impressed. They decided to record that song "Arey Tajub Hain" with Sudesh. The original plan was to have Amitabh Bachchan sing the song in his own voice.
