Scientific consultant Darren Naish has opined that the most speculative animal depiction of the series is the giant Dreadnoughtus with balloon-like air sacs lining its neck which can be inflated to intimidate rivals and attract mates. There is no evidence that any dinosaurs outside of their modern bird descendants had such features, but all dinosaurs had air sacs within their bodies and even their bones which could have been used for multiple purposes. As many animals today have similar soft tissue features, mainly birds and also elephant seals, scientists believe extinct animals most likely evolved similar traits as well. But since these do not fossilize, we can only speculate on which animals had them. Thus, the depiction of Dreadnoughtus in the series is merely a speculative suggestion, not a scientific fact.
