When Andy Griffith had memorized the courtroom speeches, that was his secret. He was spouting off the courtroom statements on the show that was simple, or at least the actor made it look that way. He wasn't waiting for somebody to give their reply. If anybody went back and watch the shows after one gets that in somebody's head, then, they could see he steamrolled, sometimes, right through someone's answer.
