Early in this movie, an upper class lady says to her husband "dear, there must be better ways to promote the starch business." In this movie, the team, Duluth Bulldogs, are sponsored by a company named "The Starch King" until they're cut off. The Decatur Staleys, charter member of then-A.P.F.A., now the N.F.L., and nowadays known as the Chicago Bears, was a company team owned and ran by A.E. Staley, a food starch company from Decatur, Illinois.
