Originally in the film, towards the end, the symbiote would have revealed a smoking skeleton when Spider-Man seperated the symbiote. All that remained was a hunk of bones, meaning that the symbiote drained Eddie's life and fully bonded with him. The skeleton props were also made, with Eddie's skull having a resemblance to Venom's face. This was reshot because it scared and traumatized lots of children in the test audience.
