Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong), Cory's lifelong best friend since childhood, has traveled around as a writer and a photographer for a website for the past thirteen years. Although he lived in New York, near Cory and Topanga, for some time after high school, he left town for his traveling career on the day Riley was born because he felt out of place, and due to some jealousy, spending so much time with Cory's growing family while he is a single man.
