During his adventures in Kanto, Johto, and the Orange Islands, Ash pinned his gym badges to the inside of his jacket. However, since the Hoenn saga, they have been kept in some form of case. Initially, it was unknown where the badges of Ash's previous journeys were, though they have been seen in his room in some episodes.
