J. Peter Robinson replaced Maurice Jarre as the movie's composer. Producers Ted Field and Robert W. Cort, according to Daily Variety, felt Jarre's score did not fit in with the movie's story. Jarre still received his fee and Robinson was contracted to compose a score in three days. Buena Vista Pictures made a loss at having to re-print posters and preview screening tickets, with Jarre's name on them. The July 28, 1988 edition of 'The Los Angeles Herald Examiner' reported that Jarre had already been billed on the sleeve jacket of the movie's soundtrack.
