The scene where Ludlow and Diskant go to the barrio to search for a suspect and some information on Freemont and Coates was filmed in South Central. Despite this, there weren't any problems and it was an open set where people around the community was around the set talking to the cast and crew including Keanu Reeves, who was very gracious and accommodating to the people there hanging and talking to them while they weren't filming, according to director David Ayer.
