The opening titles reveal the identity of the mole. When the title appears, the words "Tinker" and "Soldier" move parallel in one direction while "Tailor" and "Spy" move parallel in the opposite direction. Control (Sir John Hurt) code-named Haydon (Colin Firth), as later revealed in this movie, as "Tailor".
