Bruce Timm was not originally happy with the original voice actor for J-Man, the Jokerz' leader, and Alan Burnett told Timm that he should do the voice then. Timm reluctantly did it and eventually Burnett and the other writers kept writing the character into many later episodes so that Timm would have to voice the character.
