Both Ricky Schroder's (Ricky, later Rick) and Alfonso Ribeiro's (Alfonso) characters on the show shared both actors' real first names. Joey Lawrence, who guest starred in the first season episode "The Best Christmas Ever", also portrayed a character (Joey Thompson) with his real first name (This was also the case for Lawrence in his roles on La piccola grande Nell (1981), Blossom (1990), Una famiglia a tutto gas (1995), and Melissa & Joey (2010)).
