The scene where Batman confronts Riddler in the interrogation room is somewhat similar to the final scene in Akira Kurosawa's Anatomia di un rapimento (1963). The most obvious parallel is the image of a poor person looking up at where the rich people live with envy and wondering how and why they're struggling. Director Matt Reeves didn't list Anatomia di un rapimento (1963) as an inspiration. Although, Reeves said multiple times that Kurosawa is one of his favorite filmmakers.
