In interviews, both Mindy Cohn and Kim Fields have revealed that Kim saw that inexperienced Mindy was struggling and pulled her aside and said, "Don't worry kid, I got you covered," which might have been the basis for the "Green-Eyed Monster" episode where experienced thespian Tootie coaches newbie Natalie through the auditions for their school musical. All of the actresses have admitted that Kim was the most experienced actress of the bunch, even though she was the youngest; since she had been doing it since she was a baby; appearing in sitcoms like Good Times and the famous Talking Mrs. Butterworth commercial. This was probably the basis for making Tootie the serious actress of the bunch, always starring in student musicals and the like.
