May is the only traveling companion to have traveled with Ash from the first episode of a series all the way to the last. Misty did not officially start traveling with Ash until the end of Pokémon: Pokémon Emergency! (1997) (the second episode of the Original Series), with Brock following three episodes later; Tracey didn't start traveling with Ash until Pokémon: Save Laplace! (1999) (the fourth episode of the Orange Islands arc), Max started traveling with Ash in Pokémon: There's No Place Like Hoenn (2002) (the third episode of the Advanced Generation Series), Dawn started traveling with Ash in Pokémon: Rival Battle! Three vs. Three!! (2006) (the third episode of the Diamond & Pearl Series), Iris joined Ash in Pokémon: Iris and Kibago!/To the Isshu Region! Zekrom's Shadow! (2010) (the second episode of the Best Wishes Series), with Cilan following four episodes later; Clemont and Bonnie both joined Ash in Pokémon: Keromatsu VS Yayakoma! Aerial Battle Maneuvers!! (2013) (the third episode of the XY Series), with Serena joining Ash four episodes later.
