Antlers Holst (Michael Wincott) is named after composer Gustav Holst. The Scandinavian translation of "Gustav" is "goos stafr" ("gods' staff" or "staff of the gods") and the staves of Scandinavian gods (those who use one) is depicted as being made from or topped with an Antler.
