Several scenes, including the one in which Indy first spots the shaman from the raft and the one where Willie attempts to perfume her elephant were shot at a location nicknamed "Bo Derek's lake" in Sri Lanka, where various memorable sequences from Tarzan, l'uomo scimmia (1981) had been shot previously.
