In an interview with show-business trade paper The Hollywood Reporter, CAA agent Michelle Weiner said: "It was clear that they [the real Mike and Dave who she spoke to on the phone] were great characters and this was great story fodder. They lived up to the hype. They were smart and they were funny. They had all of the comedy and the heart that you need for the start of a great story."
