After spending many years lobbying and failing to get into a big-budget blockbuster, Salma Hayek was incredibly excited to join something like the MCU. She also was very humbled to have become a superhero in spite of being a Mexican woman in her mid-50s, which isn't exactly the mold of the traditional archetype.
