Though monsters like Manda, Rodan, Kamacuras and Kumonga were brought to life through a combination of traditional suit effects and CGI, Zilla is the only monster to be fully computer generated. To create his computer model, visual effect artists simply 3D scanned the gigantic Ultimate Godzilla action figure that was originally released by Trendmasters in 1998. This explains why Zilla did not receive any elaborate concept art for the movie, unlike other monsters.
