The Giganotosaurus is built up as being the new villain dinosaur of the film in the vein of the Indominus and Indoraptor of the previous Jurassic World films, and the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III, with the director even comparing it to the Joker in an interview. However, in the film it doesn't act particularly aggressive compared to any of the other animals, averting the usual Kill All Humans and Super-Persistent Predator attitude usually present in antagonist dinosaurs, first being shown peacefully sleeping, bullying the Tyrannosaurus away from a meal without a fight, and deciding a group of humans aren't worthwhile prey after meeting sufficient retaliation. Nonetheless, it gets the obligatory climactic fight at the end and a brutally violent death befitting a villain. Aside from the one that kills the T. rex in the prologue (which isn't in the final film), and eating two flaming locusts, it has absolutely no kills in the film.
