Cassian's blaster is a Bryar pistol, which was introduced in Star Wars: Dark Forces (1995), a game that is set in the non-canon Star Wars Legends continuity. With the release of Star Wars: Battlefront (2015), the Bryar pistol was adapted into the official canon. This series marks the first live-action appearance of the blaster. The prop was based on the K-16 model that appeared in the games, but after the prop designers added some extras, it was given the name MW-20.
