(at around 14 mins) Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) justifies his misdirection during the hostage rescue mission: "The last time I trusted somebody, I lost an eye." In Captain Marvel (2019), however, it shown that Fury lost his eye when Goose the Cat, a Flerken he befriended while helping Captain Marvel during the Kree-Skrull Wars, scratched it, not because someone betrayed him. So Fury lies again! However, during the climactic fight between Captain Marvel and the Krees, Fury tells Goose he's putting his trust in her as they escape the chaos, so Fury is being truthful that he trusted someone and it cost him his eye; he's only not telling Captain America who he trusted was a Flerken or a cat.
