This film shares several connections to Blade Runner (1982): When Gorge is scrolling through different outfits for Angie to wear in Society, one is the same costume Pris was wearing during the climax of Blade Runner (black leotard, white face with black line across the eyes).Blade Runner is also a sci-fi film that deals with "programmed humans" - in this case, androids rather than Gamer's cybernetically altered humans.Much of the cyber-punk aesthetic used throughout Gamers originated in Blade Runner as well.The (original) ending of both films also features the main character and his love interest driving off on a winding mountain road.
