Captain Will Riker of the USS Titan appears in the final episode of season 1, along with his wife, Commander Deanna Troi. Riker reoccurs in the first 2 episodes of season 2, but Troi is absent without explanation. As season 2 takes place in 2381, the same year Riker and Troi's first child was born, it is possible she was on maternity leave at the time.
