The fifteen minutes of invisibility the character of Sam Casey (Ben Murphy) was afforded in each adventure was as a result of a cost cutting exercise by the producers. Their previous attempt at a show based on a similar premise, The Invisible Man (1975), had been quite costly to produce largely due to the effects budget. The TV network would only commission this show if the budget was considerably trimmed down.
