This immensely-popular family Western-dramatic series premiered on March 30, 1974, on NBC, at 9:00 p.m./8:00 p.m., as a Made-For-TV-Movie, and immediately following another popular action/medical drama Squadra emergenza (1972), when it debuted (as a series) on September 11, 1974, on the same network, at 8:00 p.m./7:00 p.m., and remained in the timeslot, for 2 years, before it moved to Mondays, at 8:00 p.m./7:00 p.m., where it stayed, throughout the rest of the run.
