The first footage of the movie was shown in a teaser trailer during the Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic Con in 2015. The trailer was meant to be a glorified sizzle reel, essentially highlighting the different characters, and Warner Bros. had no intention of releasing it to the public. When a low quality version of the trailer, that was filmed by someone in attendance at the panel, surfaced online, Warner Bros. decided to release the high quality version to the public, making it the film's first official trailer.
