In a deleted scene Thor catches Frigga talking with Loki and asks her if she ever regrets teaching Loki her magic. Frigga tells Thor no, that he and Odin cast long shadows and she hoped teaching Loki what she knew would help him find some sun for himself. In Avengers, Loki tells Thor that he remembers a shadow, living in the shade of Thor's greatness. In Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Loki tells Thor that the sun will shine on them again, before he attempts to kill Thanos and is then murdered himself by the Titan.
