When Frank's face finally slips off, it's revealed that the Wendigo face is more of a cracked deer skull with jagged teeth set in a crocodile-like jaw. Director Scott Cooper says, "I thought it was a really beautifully designed creature and also terrifying. And one of the interesting design elements is the lack of eyes. Because you can't really negotiate with something that doesn't have eyes."
