(at around 34 mins) Rocket's survival was foreshadowed earlier in the movie, when Thor asks if Rocket (rabbit) is the Captain, to which Rocket sarcastically says he is to spite Quill, "foreshadowing" the ending when all of the Guardians disintegrate except him, ironically making him the Captain, and when he and Thor are discussing loss, Thor says something to the effect of having nothing left to lose, and Rocket mumbles (twice),- "I've got some things to lose." Losing all of his friends, his family, including Groot.
