This series was the first Paramount-produced drama series to last more than 2 seasons on NBC since the 1969 cancellation of "Star Trek: The Original Series" (which was a Paramount production only during the second half of the second season and all of the third season). While Paramount produced several successful shows on NBC in the 1980s and 1990s, all of them were sitcoms (two of which starred series co-producer Kelsey Grammar as Frasier Crane). However, "Medium" only lasted two seasons as a Paramount production, it was produced in its later seasons by CBS, which eventually aired the last two seasons.
