Actors Alan Bunce and Ralph Bellamy and are the only two actors from the original Broadway stage production to repeat their roles in the film which were as Governor Alfred E. Smith and President Franklin D. Roosevelt respectively. However, director Vincent J. Donehue also participated in both productions, directing both the Broadway play and this feature film adaptation.
