The actual timeline of this doesn't actually fit with the movie. As the fates in the movie say hades can do his plan in 18 years (when hercules is 18 as well) and that's when Hercules meets Phil and learns of his parentage and meets Hades, but knows Phil and Hades (and of his parentage and at many times uses that to his advantage) in the series when he is 16 years old, it doesn't quite add up. It seems Hercules got his become a true hero mission a lot earlier in the series than in the movie (when he was 18)
