There are two brief looks into enlisted berthing areas on both the Excelsior and the Enterprise. It appears that the service no longer feels that the crew need privacy. Even on US Navy warships of the 20th and 21st centuries, the crew have more privacy as they have curtains to give the person some privacy from others passing through the compartment or playing in the berthing recreation area.
