Each of the three live-action Star Trek series after the original, which are set in the 24th century, has had a cameo appearance by a character from its predecessor series in its premiere episode. In Voyager, Star Trek: Voyager: Caretaker (1995) has a cameo by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993)'s Quark, played by Armin Shimerman.
